Is Being a Landlord in the UK Tough or Easy at the moment?

Hi,

I’ve been property developing on the side for the past 6 years.  Looking back I’m glad I just flipped the properties rather then keeping them as buy-to-let.  I did however keep the last property.

Rental property

Our tenant moved out 6 weeks ago and my thoughts were it should be very easy to rent the house out again as it’s almost impossible for people to get mortgages at the moment.

Well it took the 6 weeks!  We only had 3 or 4 viewings much to my surprise!

I don’t understand how this works?  I really did think we’d have people biting our hands off to rent.

Can anyone shed any light on this?  I’d love to hear people’s experiences and knowledge on this subject matter.
